Eco Drama is launching its fifth Out to Play resource pack this autumn, tailored specifically for ASN educators.
Drama Artist Alice Donnelly has developed this informative and practical resource, featuring a rich toolkit of storytelling, drama and nature connection activities, tried and tested during her time delivering Out to Play residencies in ASN schools across Glasgow.
Out to Play is an award-winning creative learning project delivered in primary, nursery, and additional support needs (ASN) playgrounds. Using an arts-based approach, it excites learners about nature and deepens their connection to it. Drama Artists deliver 5-week residencies, providing strong CPD that supports teachers to develop creative, playful outdoor teaching methods.
Established in 2015, the project has reached thousands of pupils and educators across Scotland. Since 2018, Out to Play has tailored its residencies for ASN schools, including East Park, Hampden, Eastmuir, Langlands, and St Oswald’s Schools. Through drama, interactive storytelling, arts activities and sensory props, the programme engages learners of all abilities with nature and the environment.
By expanding the Out to Play toolkit, Eco Drama is proud to enrich Scotland’s wider play strategy, offering an established, field-tested model that can help shape the future landscape of inclusive outdoor learning.
We are delighted to produce this new tailored ASN resource, supporting educators to bring the magic of arts-based outdoor learning and play to children and young people of all abilities.
Eco Drama will launch the new resource pack at a special Out to Play CPD event for ASN educators on Tuesday 6th October 3.30-5.30pm, hosted by Kirkriggs ASN School in Glasgow.
As part of our ‘10 Years of Out to Play‘ celebrations, places on this twilight CPD are entirely free of charge. Participants will receive a free hard copy of the new resource pack.
