We have published a report about the The Whirlybird production and its first year of touring from March 2019 to March 2020, charting its journey across the country and sharing audience feedback collected from children, families, reviewers, teachers and early years practitioners.
To date the production has delivered 113 performances, reaching 4,376 Audience Members in 56 Schools, Nurseries, Theatres & Venues across Scotland and the UK. We are very proud of this achievement in its first touring year!
The production had been set to tour into April and May 2020, visiting lots of theatres and venues across the UK during the school spring holidays, but the tour was sadly cut short in mid-March due to covid-19. We are looking forward to working with theatres, venues, schools and festivals to re-book cancelled dates, and should things develop in the direction we hope, the production will be back out on tour in spring 2021.
At present we have a few theatres pencilling dates in, plus we plan to visit more schools and nurseries across greater Glasgow and Scotland, theatres, community venues and festivals including the Edinburgh International Science Festival 2021. The production has also been selected as part of the Puppet Animation Festival 2021, and we very much look forward to performing again in this fantastic festival.
