Out to Play 22-23 & New Glasgow City Council Commission

Eco Drama is delighted to launch the Out to Play programme for Autumn/Winter 2022-23, including fantastic news that Glasgow City Council are continuing to commission the Out to Play project for its Early Years settings.

This new commission will build on the success of the GCC commissioned programme of work which Eco Drama delivered throughout 2021 and during February-June 2022, reaching hundreds of children and staff across Glasgow’s 236 Early Years settings.

During August 2022 – March 2023, the Early Years strand of the Out to Play project will work in depth with a further 27 nurseries in Glasgow, delivering Out to Play Mini Residencies and Out to Play in a Day sessions, as well as further Out to Play Early Years CPD Webinars as required.

Led by Drama Artist Saffron Gillies, the Out to Play programme will continue to engage and excite children about their outdoor surroundings and encourage a deeper connection with nature through drama, storytelling and play. The CPD element for nursery staff, which underpins the programme of work, is designed to support practitioners with the confidence and skills to continue delivering arts-based outdoor play and learning with their children going forward.

Alongside the Early Years programme, Eco Drama will continue delivering 5 week Out to Play residencies with Primary Schools across Glasgow, in-service/twilight Out to Play CPD sessions for primary schools, plus further webinar sessions for early years practitioners across the country (and world!)
